After being postponed due to COVID, the 63rd Grammy Awards were pre-taped at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. We were tapped by CBS and the Recording Academy to create a campaign of intimate, stylized short films exploring their lives during the pandemic. We only had a few minutes with the talent between sets; for safety reasons we had to work with a skeleton crew.
In order to capture artists as quickly as possible, we rehearsed choreography and lighting to perfection in advance. A covid compliant set was constructed with LED screens to display unique visuals for each artist. Along with the EPK team, we captured interview footage to pair with the editorial. The result was beautiful and intimate glimpse at the artists, captured in minutes.
